Music To Set The Mood Right – Grand Theft Auto V

I think we can all agree that music plays quite the part in video games. But also I think a lot of us often turn to mute the in-game music in favor for something placed in our own musical back catalogues. But what kind of music goes well with what kind of games? We’ll give you a few examples of which songs we like listening to while shooting, driving and puzzle solving.

Grand Theft Auto V

With Grand Theft Auto, Rockstar has certainly managed to hit the nail on the head when it comes to the soundtrack of the game. It includes songs from all over the musical spectrum including everything from tripped up techno to metal that’ll make you cry while moving down pedestrians. However, if we were to look away from the songs included in the game, there are a few personal favourites that’ll make it worthwhile to press the mute button.

The Game featuring 50 Cent – Hate It or Love It

Imagine rolling into Grove Street in a classic sports car convertible, flipping off half a dozen purple clad ballas. Hate It or Love It provides an excellent soundtrack when you’re riding around Los Santos and speeding on the open highways of Blaine County and it’s really a mystery why this wasn’t included in the first place. Let’s sign a petition for Rockstar to add it in the next DLC so Fiddy can narrate a highway minigun massacre.

Ukendt Kunstner – Langt væk

Yeah, i know – who the hell is Ukendt Kunster and how the hell do you pronounce it? And what kind of song title is that? Behind all of this danish madness lies a very cool song with a long and sweet instrumental part. It’s nice having in the background when you’re speeding along the coast with the setting sun in the rearview mirror.

Justice – D.A.N.C.E

I don’t really have any particular occasion for this song. Yet, it’s one of the songs I tend to put on the most in sunny Los Santos. It adds some sort of happy-go-lucky element to the trigger pulling.

Despite the fact that i sometimes mute the volume on the television, Rockstar has actually managed to create a great soundtrack. There is something for everyone here. Some personal favourites are Ali Bomaye by The Game and Mirror Maru by Cashmere Cat – but I’m sure you have your own favourites, both in-game and from your own library.
